Join us for the June Lunch & Learn with Irene Li, structural engineer and Technical Director for the West Region of the Block Design Collective. This session will explore how concrete masonry units can support lower embodied carbon design through life cycle analysis, from wall assembly comparisons to a prototype mixed-use building case study.

Participants will learn how efficient CMU design strategies—including modular coordination, optimized structure, and strategic grout and reinforcement placement—can reduce material use, lower embodied carbon, and support cost-effective, resilient design.
